Dr. P.S.BAWA

Dr P.S. Bawa, is an Alumni of the prestigious Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi. After completing his Under-graduation  ( M.B.BS ) and Masters in Surgery ( M.S ), he completed his Post -Doctorate  / Super- Specialization (M.Ch) in Neurosurgery from G.B.Pant Hospital, Delhi.

In 1994, Dr Bawa went to the UK and specialized in Spinal Surgery and Rehabilitation from Princess Royal Spine Injuries Unit , Sheffield. He cracked through all Competitive examinations in the very first attempt itself.

Dr Bawa returned to his homeland in 1996 and took over the reins of Mata Chanan Devi Hospital as its Medical Advisor and Strategic Planner. Under his guidance, this medium sized secondary health care hospital developed into a Super-Specialty Centre of the city.

Today Mata Chanan Devi Hospital has over 700 employees, ranging from super -specialized doctors to paramedical staff and is amongst the best specialty medical centers in the Country . LINK TO EXPRESS HEALTHCARE ARTICLE

Dr Bawa is also involved in various social causes, like running a charitable organization, spreading awareness about the importance of Clinical focus and improving its quality and delivery, and making it more cost effective.

He is the PRESIDENT of:

  • Total Health Foundation – a Registered Charity looking into all aspects of health and fitness. The Foundation has launched the unique Total Health Program.
  • The Brain and Spine Foundation of India –  All India based registered charity which organizes lectures, camps and seminars for doctors and public on awareness of Brain and Spine disorders.
  • Indian Society for Healthcare Risk Management  – All India based Society which guides healthcare organizations to identify and reduce their Clinical, Financial and Legal Risk Elements.
  • Centre for Economic and Sustainable Healthcare – a Registered Society that brings together Healthcare Professionals at a forum to find ways of making healthcare universally affordable,  available to all, while making it socially, ecologically and ethically responsible.
